Le vortex polaire a err\u00e9 plus souvent ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es.<\/p>\n<p>Tout a commenc\u00e9 avec la chaleur marocaine mal plac\u00e9e. Le mois dernier, les temp\u00e9ratures normalement super froides \u00e0 20 miles au-dessus du p\u00f4le Nord ont rapidement augment\u00e9 d&#39;environ 125 degr\u00e9s (70 degr\u00e9s Celsius), gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l&#39;air venant du sud. C&#39;est ce qu&#39;on appelle &quot;le r\u00e9chauffement stratosph\u00e9rique soudain&quot;.<\/p>\n<p>Cette chaleur a fendu le vortex polaire et laiss\u00e9 les morceaux errer, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Judah Cohen, experte en temp\u00eates hivernales pour Atmospheric Environmental Research, une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 commerciale situ\u00e9e pr\u00e8s de Boston.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;O\u00f9 va le vortex polaire, l&#39;air froid va aussi&quot;, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Cohen.<\/p>\n<p>Mercredi matin, une de ces pi\u00e8ces sera au-dessus des 48 \u00c9tats de la partie inf\u00e9rieure pour la premi\u00e8re fois depuis des ann\u00e9es. Les pr\u00e9visions annoncent un minimum de moins 21 degr\u00e9s (moins 29 degr\u00e9s Celsius) \u00e0 Chicago et des vents froids flirtant avec moins 65 degr\u00e9s (moins 54 degr\u00e9s Celsius) dans certaines r\u00e9gions du Minnesota, selon le National Weather Service.<\/p>\n<p>Le rhume inhabituel pourrait rester encore huit semaines, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Cohen.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Les impacts de cette scission, nous avons encore du chemin \u00e0 faire. Ce n&#39;est pas encore la fin du film&quot;, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Cohen. &quot;Je pense qu&#39;au minimum, nous sommes \u00e0 la mi-f\u00e9vrier, peut-\u00eatre \u00e0 la mi-mars.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Les Am\u00e9ricains ont \u00e9t\u00e9 introduits dans le vortex polaire il y a cinq ans. C&#39;\u00e9tait au d\u00e9but de janvier 2014 lorsque les temp\u00e9ratures ont chut\u00e9 \u00e0 moins 16 degr\u00e9s (moins 27 degr\u00e9s Celsius) \u00e0 Chicago et les m\u00e9t\u00e9orologues, qui ont utilis\u00e9 ce terme pendant des d\u00e9cennies, ont commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 en parler sur les m\u00e9dias sociaux.<\/p>\n<p>                                                                Cette \u00e9pid\u00e9mie pourrait faire craquer des records quotidiens de froid et sera probablement encore plus brutale qu\u2019il ya cinq ans, en particulier avec un refroidissement \u00e9olien accru, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Jeff Masters, directeur de la m\u00e9t\u00e9orologie de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 m\u00e9t\u00e9orologique priv\u00e9e Weather Underground.<\/p>\n<p>Lorsque l&#39;air chaud envahit la r\u00e9gion polaire, il peut fendre le vortex ou le d\u00e9placer, g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement vers la Sib\u00e9rie, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Cohen. (Il n&#39;est pas correct d&#39;appeler le vortex polaire le centre glacial de l&#39;air froid, car il ne s&#39;agit que d&#39;un morceau ou d&#39;un lobe, et non de l&#39;ensemble du vortex, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Jason Furtado, professeur de m\u00e9t\u00e9orologie \u00e0 l&#39;Universit\u00e9 de l&#39;Oklahoma.)<\/p>\n<p>Lorsque les forces qui forcent le vortex polaire dans l\u2019Arctique sont faibles, il s\u2019\u00e9gare plus souvent en Sib\u00e9rie que dans le Michigan. Et cela se produit plus fr\u00e9quemment au cours des deux derni\u00e8res d\u00e9cennies, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Furtado. Une \u00e9tude il y a un an dans le <i>Bulletin de la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 m\u00e9t\u00e9orologique am\u00e9ricaine<\/i> ont examin\u00e9 des d\u00e9cennies du syst\u00e8me arctique et ont constat\u00e9 que le vortex polaire s&#39;\u00e9tait d\u00e9plac\u00e9 &quot;vers des \u00c9tats faibles plus fr\u00e9quents&quot;.<\/p>\n<p>Quand les morceaux de vortex polaires errent, la chaleur envahit l&#39;Arctique, l&#39;Alaska, le Groenland et le Canada, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Masters. Alors que le Midwest frissonne, l\u2019Australie br\u00fble des records de chaleur. Le monde dans son ensemble lundi \u00e9tait de 0,7 degr\u00e9s (0,4 degr\u00e9s Celsius) plus chaud que la moyenne de 1979 \u00e0 2000, selon le Climate Reanalyzer de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 du Maine.<\/p>\n<p>Certains scientifiques &#8211; mais pas le plus souvent &#8211; voient un lien entre le changement climatique caus\u00e9 par l\u2019homme et la diff\u00e9rence de pression atmosph\u00e9rique qui provoque des ondes en mouvement plus lentes dans l\u2019air.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;C&#39;est une histoire compliqu\u00e9e qui implique une forte dose de chaos et une interaction entre de multiples influences. Il est donc difficile d&#39;extraire un signal clair du r\u00f4le de l&#39;Arctique&quot;, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Jennifer Francis, climatologue au centre de recherche Woods Hole.
