Depuis 1880, ann\u00e9e du d\u00e9but de la tenue des registres, seuls trois ans &#8211; 2016 (le plus \u00e9lev\u00e9, en partie \u00e0 cause d&#39;El Ni\u00f1o), 2015 et 2017 &#8211; ont \u00e9t\u00e9 plus chauds.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Le message cl\u00e9 est que la plan\u00e8te se r\u00e9chauffe&quot;, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 aux journalistes Gavin Schmidt, directeur du Goddard Institute for Space Studies de la NASA \u00e0 New York, lors d&#39;une conf\u00e9rence de presse. &quot;Et notre compr\u00e9hension de la raison de ces tendances est \u00e9galement tr\u00e8s robuste. C&#39;est \u00e0 cause des gaz \u00e0 effet de serre que nous avons (ou ont) \u00e9mis dans l&#39;atmosph\u00e8re au cours des 100 derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es.&quot; (6 effets inattendus du changement climatique)<\/p>\n<p>La tendance n&#39;est pas nouvelle. Neuf des dix hivers les plus chauds ont eu lieu depuis 2005 et cinq des ann\u00e9es les plus chaudes jamais enregistr\u00e9es se sont d\u00e9roul\u00e9es au cours des cinq derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, soit de 2014 \u00e0 2018.<\/p>\n<p>De plus, la NASA et la NOAA ont v\u00e9rifi\u00e9 leur travail contre les conclusions d&#39;autres groupes, notamment le Met Office (Royaume-Uni) et l&#39;Organisation m\u00e9t\u00e9orologique mondiale (World Meteorological Organization), qui ont \u00e9galement class\u00e9 2018 en tant que quatri\u00e8me ann\u00e9e la plus chaude jamais enregistr\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>Deke Arndt, chef de la section de surveillance chez NOAA, a enregistr\u00e9 des temp\u00e9ratures record (temp\u00e9ratures des terres et des oc\u00e9ans) dans une grande partie de l&#39;Europe, en M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e, au Moyen-Orient, en Nouvelle-Z\u00e9lande et en Russie, ainsi que dans certaines parties des oc\u00e9ans Atlantique et Pacifique occidental. Les centres nationaux d\u2019information sur l\u2019environnement \u00e0 Asheville, en Caroline du Nord, ont d\u00e9clar\u00e9 aux journalistes.<\/p>\n<p>Mais il ne faisait pas chaud partout. &quot;La partie int\u00e9rieure du nord de l&#39;Am\u00e9rique du Nord \u00e9tait dans la partie froide de l&#39;histoire r\u00e9cente, en particulier dans les provinces des Prairies du Canada&quot;, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 M. Arndt. Cela explique en partie pourquoi 2018 ne figure que parmi les 20 ann\u00e9es les plus chaudes en Am\u00e9rique du Nord, a-t-il d\u00e9clar\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Dans l\u2019ensemble du monde, les terres et les mers \u00e9taient plus chaudes que la moyenne: les terres mesuraient environ 1,12 C (2,02 F) et les oc\u00e9ans \u00e9taient 0,66 C (1,19 F) plus chauds que la moyenne du 20\u00e8me si\u00e8cle, selon la NOAA.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"pull-\">\n<p class=\"vanilla-image-block\" data-bordeaux-image-check=\"\">\n<p>(Cr\u00e9dit image: NOAA)<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>La r\u00e9gion la plus touch\u00e9e par le changement climatique est l&#39;Arctique, qui se r\u00e9chauffe entre deux et trois fois plus vite que la moyenne mondiale, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Schmidt.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Nous sommes \u00e9videmment tr\u00e8s pr\u00e9occup\u00e9s par ce qui se passe dans l&#39;Arctique&quot;, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Schmidt. &quot;Nous avons enregistr\u00e9 une forte diminution de la glace de mer dans l&#39;Arctique, en particulier en \u00e9t\u00e9 et en septembre, p\u00e9riode minimale de la banquise dans l&#39;Arctique. Mais il y a aussi des diminutions en hiver, mais elles sont moins prononc\u00e9es.&quot;<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"u-s-climate\">    Climat am\u00e9ricain<\/h2>\n<p>Aux \u00c9tats-Unis, 2018 a \u00e9t\u00e9 la 14e plus chaude des 124 ann\u00e9es enregistr\u00e9es, du moins pour les 48 \u00c9tats inf\u00e9rieurs contigus, a not\u00e9 M. Arndt. Il faisait environ 1,5 F (0,83 C) plus chaud que la moyenne du 20\u00e8me si\u00e8cle. Hawa\u00ef a m\u00eame \u00e9tabli un record pour la p\u00e9riode de 24 heures la plus pluvieuse de l\u2019histoire des \u00c9tats-Unis, avec des pr\u00e9cipitations de 126 cm (49,6 pouces) \u00e0 Kauai du 14 au 15 avril 2018. (Les choses les plus \u00e9tranges qui soient tomb\u00e9es du ciel)<\/p>\n<p>Dans le m\u00eame temps, une grave s\u00e9cheresse persistait dans la r\u00e9gion des Four Corners, dans le sud-ouest am\u00e9ricain. Bien que cette r\u00e9gion ait connu une s\u00e9cheresse dans le pass\u00e9, le changement climatique a rendu ces s\u00e9cheresses plus intenses, en grande partie parce que le sol s&#39;ass\u00e8che davantage en raison de la hausse des temp\u00e9ratures, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Schmidt.<\/p>\n<p>Les \u00e9v\u00e9nements climatiques extr\u00eames ont \u00e9galement eu un impact n\u00e9gatif sur l\u2019\u00e9conomie am\u00e9ricaine. Il y a eu 14 \u00e9v\u00e9nements m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques et climatiques qui ont co\u00fbt\u00e9 plus d&#39;un milliard de dollars en 2018, ce qui en fait le quatri\u00e8me plus grand total enregistr\u00e9 depuis 1980. (Les scientifiques ont ajust\u00e9 l&#39;inflation, a not\u00e9 Arndt.) Au total, ces \u00e9v\u00e9nements, y compris les ouragans Florence et Michael, ainsi que les incendies de for\u00eat de l&#39;Ouest, ont co\u00fbt\u00e9 91 milliards de dollars en pertes directes, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Arndt.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"double-checking-data\">    Double v\u00e9rification des donn\u00e9es<\/h2>\n<p>Les climatologues ont pris de nombreuses pr\u00e9cautions pour \u00e9liminer les incertitudes de leurs donn\u00e9es. Par exemple, ils ont d\u00e9termin\u00e9 si les m\u00e9thodologies avaient chang\u00e9 au fil des ans, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Schmidt. De plus, pour \u00e9viter les biais dus \u00e0 l&#39;effet dit &quot;d&#39;\u00eelot de chaleur urbain&quot;, dans lequel les villes sont plus chaudes que les zones environnantes, les agences collectent la plupart de leurs donn\u00e9es \u00e0 partir de zones rurales; et si une station se d\u00e9place ou si l&#39;environnement qui l&#39;entoure change, les scientifiques contr\u00f4lent cela aussi, dit Schmidt.<\/p>\n<p>De plus, les satellites de la NASA suivent les donn\u00e9es climatiques depuis 1979, ce qui sert \u00e9galement de v\u00e9rification externe des donn\u00e9es recueillies sur Terre.
